Oct. 31, 2018 -- Wichita State student Suzie Wright, a social work major, had the opportunity to work with children through an applied learning experience at the Wichita State Child Development Center.

Oct. 31, 2018 -- Lauren Gawlak, a junior studying criminal justice at Wichita State, spent the summer gaining firsthand experience as an intern with the Lenexa Police Department.

Oct. 26, 2018 -- As part of a summer class, senior fine arts major Xuan Ha got the opportunity to work on the Jump!Star sculpture, working to fabricate a large, illuminated paper sculpture.

Oct. 18, 2018 -- Dennis Livesay, dean of the Graduate School, associate vice president for Research and Technology Transfer, and professor of chemistry at Wichita State University, has been named the new dean of WSU's College of Engineering, effective Jan. 1.

Oct. 17, 2018 -- Wichita State University's Shocker Rowing team will soon have a new home in the downtown River Vista development.

Oct. 5, 2018 -- Retired Lt. Colonel Larry Burks is the new director of Military and Veteran Services at Wichita State University.

Oct. 2, 2018 -- Wichita State University has been awarded $813,000 to boost enrollment and retention of students under-represented in science, technology, engineering and math. The funds are part of a larger $3 million, five-year National Science Foundation grant awarded to Kansas State University, which is sharing grant funds with a statewide coalition of universities and community colleges.

Sept. 20, 2018 -- WSU graduate Julius Thomas III is touring cross country with the Broadway hit show “Hamilton: The Musical.”
